This is a 1998 Stratos 2100 CC (21′ 6″ overall), also known as the 2160. For a brief history summary, Stratos got their start with bass boats from the owner and designer Earl Bentz (now with Triton Boats). While Stratos was owned by OMC (Evinrude/Johnson), Earl Bentz remained the president and expanded the boating line to include large center consoles designed for the saltwater/offshore market. Stratos/OMC was eventually bought out by the company that owned Hydra Sport boats, so Hydra Sport continued making large center consoles and the Stratos brand was used exclusively for premium bass boats.
This boat is extremely well taken care of and is in excellent condition. It is turn key ready to go boating, and is an offshore capable center console with a 225 V6 Evinrude that runs great and has also been well maintained. I have put about 550 hours on this boat/motor, and it has never left me stranded.
The trailer is a 2008 Aluminum I-beam purchased from Owen and Sons. It has new torsion axles, hubs, and four wheel DeeMaxx Max Coated disc brakes all installed 2 years ago. Tie-Down Engineering surge brake receiver is only 1 year old and has an integrated electronic reverse lockout solenoid to disengage the brakes while backing up. Load Range C Tires are less than 2 years old and are in like new shape with receipt of purchase.
The boat has all brass/stainless through hull fittings. Stainless steel prop is in perfect condition. Throttle and shift cables just replaced. Hydraulic outboard steering works perfect and has zero leaks. Bennet hydraulic trim tabs work great with no leaks. Engine electronics and charging system updated by Mike’s Evinrude in St. Pete. Custom waterproof genuine Sunbrella fabric T-Top canvas is less than 6 months old and is sewn with premium Gore Tenara PTFE Lifetime Thread and premium stainless steel grommets. Original captains chairs were removed and replaced with a new custom leaning post that has a removable back rest, tilt-up foot rest, and adds 4 more rod holders to the boat. Leaning post is designed to fit a 65 Yeti underneath it. Custom two-toned SeaDeck non-slip cushion material installed around helm, under leaning post, on center console foot well, side bolsters, and rear seat cushion backs. This material is great because it won’t get hot in the sun, provides cushion and non-slip for your feet and legs, and is very easy to keep clean. SeaDek foam at the helm is double thickness for added cushion while standing underway, and the non-skid properties keep the cooler planted under the leaning post in all sea conditions. Leaning post and custom SeaDek are just over a year old.
The boat has LED spreader/docking lights in front and aft. All lights throughout (navigation, courtesy, docking, console) the boat have been converted to LED’s. Sony marine AM/FM/CD Stereo in electronics box with remote and brand new 6.5″ speakers. AUX cord wired to plug in helm. It also has bluetooth connection for streaming music. The helm/center console also has two 12V auxiliary plug-ins, and two USB charging ports.VHF marine radio and T-Top rachet mounted fiberglass antenna.
RGB LED lighting added throughout boat with remote control that can change lights to any color or mode you want. You can also create and save custom colors with the remote. They can be turned all white for docking, loading, or just working/fishing in the boat. They also can be all red, which is excellent for night time cruising/fishing. The red adds visibility to the boat for other people on the water and provides a low level light around the boat that doesn’t blind the captain or ruin your night vision. Flush mounted AC/120V plug-in for an on-board battery charger. Large dual batteries with battery switch.
Built-in insulated cooler under front center console seat. Large fish box built into front floor with upgraded 800 GPH Rule electric pump out. Large bait tank/live-well built into aft floor with Rule fill/circulating pump, 800gph Rule pump out, and through-hull high speed water pickup that circulates water while moving without the pump running. Water circulated into bait tank/live-well also gravity drains from the top so the water will circulate without pumps running. Pressurized raw water wash-down with hose connection. Lots of rod storage (at least 21 rod holders) and plenty of dry gear storage throughout. Plastic trim pieces and rubber latches around the boat were researched and replaced with OEM parts to keep the boat looking like original new condition.
Boat comes with a full Taylor Made boat cover and accessories which are in great condition and only used a few times. It can be put on by one person in a few minutes, and is already tailored to fit the boat/trailer. I have all original cushions for all the seats around the boat (front seats, built-in cooler, aft seats, all backrest cushions, leaning post & backrest). I only used 2 cushions when I took the boat out, so the rest have been kept inside the house.
Boat has a Garmin GPSMap 2006c color GPS/Chartplotter/Fish/Depth Finder with two Southeast US & surrounding waters Garmin map cards installed, GPS antenna, Garmin sonar/fishfinder transducer.
The boat runs great and has no problems going offshore or just towing water-toys around the local lakes and rivers. The bow has a deep-Vee and wide flare that easily cuts through waves while the modified-Vee, notched transom lets it get through the shallows. I’ve been very impressed with this boat, and am only selling it because I stumbled upon a deal to get a bigger boat. I have been meticulous with maintenance, and many upgrades were added in the last one to two years since I didn’t plan on selling it. There are too many upgrades and features to list. I’ve maintained everything on this boat and everything works as it’s supposed to. Engine gauges work as they should including voltage, water pump water pressure, temp, speed, hour meter (original at 1115 hours), and Evinrude’s engine system check tachometer. This is not an infamous FICHT motor. The ECU/tachometer performs a system check when the key is turned on, and will display any engine faults or problems. The ECU can also reduce power for serious problems to help avoid engine damage. Two-Strokes are notorious for sticking or breaking piston rings from excessive carbon build up. So at about 900 hours, the pistons were removed, carbon build up was cleaned out, and the piston rings were replaced. All work was performed by an Evinrude mechanic. Lower unit was replaced last year with a genuine Evinrude unit (Not a cheaper SEI unit). Impeller/water pump kit and lower unit fluid just replaced.
Boat comes with a lot of extras including extra parts that I have picked up over the years, and parts removed for upgrades in case you want to go back to the stock set up. Upgrades were usually added before the original parts were bad, so I kept the good usable parts I took off. I also have the original bow dodger/bimini that mounts and snaps on in the front.
Title is clean and in hand. You can reply to this add, or reach me by text or call at (86three) six9eight – two66zero for questions or to arrange a time to look at it. Priced to sell at $13,500 OBO which is already well below NADA suggested values. Need to free up the space in the driveway!
