Selva Marine is Italy's best-known outboard manufacturer, family-run since 1945 and based in Tirano. It is the only European producer with a complete in-house production cycle — die-casting, machining, anti-corrosion treatment, painting, assembly and testing all under one roof. Selva builds two-stroke, four-stroke and sport-tuned XSR outboards from 2.5 to 300 hp (four-stroke powerheads developed with Yamaha), and is also a component OEM for Yanmar, Torqeedo, Neander and Seven Marine.
Abridged History
- Founded in 1945 near Milan making components for Lambretta Innocenti; outboard production moved to Tirano in 1959, the primary plant since 1963.
