Rhode Island has enacted a comprehensive consumer data-privacy law: Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act.
A full plain-language guide to this law is being prepared. We would rather leave this blank than summarize a statute wrong, so for now: these laws generally cover personal data about consumers rather than publicly available commercial information about a business, and most of them only apply to companies above a size or revenue threshold. Where a statutory right genuinely applies to us, we honor it.

Public commercial listings are generally preserved so the directory stays complete and accurate. We correct and merge listings on request, and we review genuine privacy concerns — such as a one-person business operating from a private home, or a business that has closed — case by case.

How do I fix wrong information about my business?
Claim the listing and edit it yourself, or use the contact form and choose “Edit a Listing or Remove Duplicates.” Every request is reviewed by a person.
Will my street address be published?
Not on an unclaimed listing — those show city and state only. After you claim your listing you choose, and a one-person operation can keep its street address off the public page permanently.
